The Avengers Roster: K
By Sean McQuaid
Complete descriptions of each individual's affiliation with the Avengers are detailed below.
Killraven (Jonathan Raven):
Member of an alternate timeline incarnation of the Avengers; leader of his own band of rebel Freemen. The warrior known as Killraven is one of humanity's foremost freedom fighters in an alternate timeline where Mars-based alien invaders began their conquest of Earth in 2001. Enslaved by the "Martians" as a child in 2006 and later forced to fight for their amusement as a gladiator dubbed Killraven, Raven rebelled against his alien masters and became a charismatic leader among the gladiators. Placed in the custody of Keeper Whitman (an alien-enslaved human scientist) for rehabilitation, Killraven was secretly groomed by Whitman to become a champion of humanity. Whitman enhanced Killraven's physical abilities, gave him the power to psychically enter and control the minds of the alien invaders, and used "psycho-electronics" to program Killraven with the sum total of human historical, cultural and scientific knowledge. When the supposedly rehabilitated Killraven resumed his career as a gladiator, he soon rebelled again and quickly became one of the most feared and formidable opponents of Martian rule, both as leader of his own band of rebel "Freemen" and as a member of that era's surviving incarnation of the Avengers, which included Black Panther, Crimson Dynamo, Jocasta, Living Lightning and Thundra.
Note: According to some accounts, Killraven's alternate timeline is the same one occupied by the cyborg adventurer Deathlok and the late 31st century Guardians of the Galaxy in their respective eras. According to historical records of the Guardians' era, the Martian invaders of Killraven's time were eventually defeated and driven out.
Kincaid, Keith:
Former physician, Avengers Crew. A friend and colleague of Doctor Don Blake (secretly Thor) who eventually married Blake's nurse and longtime romantic interest Jane Foster, Kincaid was retained as the Avengers' staff physician for a short time (apparently one of many full-time staff laid off after the sinking of Avengers Island), and later served as the group's on-call physician. More recently, Kincaid has been replaced as the Avengers' on-call physician by his wife, Jane Foster, now a medical doctor in her own right.
Kruma, Talia:
Former physicist, Avengers Crew. A brilliant physicist once employed by Stark International (and a former associate of sometime Avengers employee Bill Foster), Kruma was briefly hired to serve as a physicist on the Avengers support staff, but she was apparently among the many staff laid off after the sinking of Avengers Island. She has since found a new position as one of the resident scientists on the United States Starcore project, and has encountered the Avengers in that capacity more than once.
